Cegid Account

What data do I need to provide to sign up?

To sign up, you can use your email address or an external account you already have (Microsoft, Google, Facebook or Apple). When using an external account to sign up, you must use that account’s access data to authenticate and access the apps. If you decide to use your email address, you will also need to provide your name and define a password.

How can I create a strong password?

At Cegid, we take your account’s safety very seriously and a strong password will help protect your personal data and prevent anyone from accessing your account.

The password must have between 6 and 100 characters and can contain any combination of letters, numbers and symbols (only ASCII characters). Do not use a password that is particularly weak, for example, "password123".

To help you evaluate the strength of your password, we apply a password strength evaluation algorithm when validating passwords, showing you the result with an indicator bar that varies from red (weak) to green (strong) alongside password fields.

Tips to create a strong password:

1. Create a unique password

Use a different password for all your accounts. It’s risky to reuse passwords, considering that if someone accesses one account, they can also access other accounts.

2. Make your password longer yet easier to remember

Longer passwords are stronger, so you should use a password with at least 12 characters. To make it easier to remember, try to use:

  • Lyrics;

  • A meaningful quote from a movie or speech;

  • A passage from a book or poem;

  • A series of words that are meaningful only to you;

  • An abbreviation, using the first letter of each word from a sentence.

Avoid using passwords that could be guessed by people who know you or people looking at easily accessible info (like your social network profile).

3. Use letters, numbers and symbols Passwords with several types of symbols might be more difficult for people to guess, but also might be harder for you to remember.  Use a mix of alphanumeric characters (letters and numbers) and symbols:

  • Uppercase (capital) letters, for example: A, E, R;

  • Lowercase (small) letters, for example: a, e, r;

  • Numbers, for example: 2, 6, 7;

  • Symbols and special characters, for example: ! @@ & *.

4. Avoid personal information and common words  Avoid creating passwords from info that others might know or could easily find out, for example:

  • Your nickname or initials;

  • The name of your child or pet;

  • Important birthdays or dates;

  • Your street;

  • Your phone number.

Avoid simple words, phrases, and patterns that are easy to guess, for example:

  • Obvious words and phrases like "password"

  • Sequences like "abcd" or "1234"

  • Keyboard patterns like "qwerty".

Why do I need to verify my email?

To help protect your data, we ask you to verify your account. This extra confirmation helps prevent someone from impersonating you and misusing our applications.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. To close your account, you must follow these steps:

  • Access the login area and log into the account with the email address you wish to change;

  • On the Privacy section on the main page, click Close Account and follow the steps to delete your account;

  • After selecting the Close Account button, we wait 30 days before permanently delete your account, in case you decide to cancel the operation.

  • To reactivate your account during this waiting period, contact our customer support service.

Important note:

Closing your account means that you won’t be able to sign into the products and services that rely on it for authentication and authorization. This includes the services provided by Cegid, but also by third-parties. Before closing your account, take some time to consider the products and services that you use.

Yes. You can use different external logins as an authentication method. You can associate your Microsoft, Google, Facebook and/or Apple account, depending on the Cegid apps you have access to. By synchronizing your external accounts, you can select the account you wish to login with.

  • Click the option Logins on the left side of the screen;

Why should I set a recovery phone number/email?

To protect your account, we ask you to add a recovery phone number and email address. To add this recovery data, you must follow these steps:

  • Access the login area and log into the account;

  • Click the option Security on the left side of the screen;

  • On the section Account Recovery, add a Recovery Phone and/or a Recovery Email.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security method used in identity and access management that requires two forms of identification to access a product. Two-factor authentication helps protect the most vulnerable information and networks.

Why should I use two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication helps protect your personal data. This security method ensures that no resources can be accessed without proper identity verification. Nowadays, traditional passwords are not as secure as they once were, and this two-step authentication system helps eliminate the possibility of cybercriminals and hackers leaking information to the public.

What verification methods can I use for two-factor authentication?

The following authentication methods are available:

  • Authentication app: get verification codes from an authentication app set up on your phone;

  • SMS: get verification codes from a text message sent to your phone number;

  • Email: get verification codes from an email sent to your email address

  • Backup codes: get verification codes directly from your Cegid account.

How can I enable two-factor authentication?

To enable two-factor authentication, follow these steps:

  • Go to the login page and sign in to the account where you want to enable two-factor authentication;

  • Select Security;

  • In the Two-Factor Authentication section, select Enable and follow the steps;

You can use the following authentication methods:

  • Authentication app: get verification codes from an authentication app set up on your phone;

  • SMS: get verification codes from a text message sent to your phone number;

  • Email: get verification codes from an email sent to your email address

  • Backup codes: get verification codes directly from your Cegid account.

What are backup codes?

Backup codes are alphanumeric codes that you can use to sign in to your account if you lose access to your device. Be sure to keep these codes in a safe place. If you lose your device and don’t have your backup codes, you’ll lose access to your account.

Is it mandatory to log in using my Cegid Account?
